The best time to visit Nha Trang would be from February till April, when temperature is kept moderate at around 26-27 degree Celsius, and precipitation stay at the lowest level of the year. Spring months are also the best time to dive here. Some coral-rich dive sites that diving enthusiasts should not miss out on are Small Hill, South Reef, and Moray Beach After, all around Mun Island.
The best time to visit Da Lat is between December and March when you can see its famous flower gardens in full bloom. Temperatures at this time of the year are ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, and walking.
Autumn (from September to November) and Spring (March and April) are two best seasons to visit Hanoi when the weather is pleasant with milder temperatures.
In winter, Hanoi is quite cold when the temperatures can fall below 10ºC (50ºF) and getting hotter in the summer averaging around 28-35ºC (82º-95ºF). Hanoi has high humidity year-round.
The rainy season in Hanoi is May to September. Heavy rains may happen sometimes in the summer, however, it is not consistent and does not affect your travel.
The dry season is from February until August. These months provide plenty of sunshine, with warm temperatures. The best time to visit Hoi An, Da Nang is between Decemeber and April, when rainfall is low and temperatures are comfortable.
Vietnam Dong is the official currency in Vietnam, which you can’t purchase or difficult to purchase outside of the country. Major Banks in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Da Nang,... can handle quite a lot of different currencies, however, USD is the most widely accepted. So we recommend taking a combination of USD cash, USD traveler’s cheques with the bulk in traveler’s cheques for safety reasons. American Express, Visa are the most popular brands.
Beside that, you should store some Vietnam Dong in cash for some expenditure such as eat out, souvernir,...
You can change cash and travelers’ cheques at big hotels or at authorized foreign exchange banks in main cities. Outside the main cities and tourist area, authorized foreign exchange banks are few and far between. So if heading off the beaten path, remember to stock up with enough cash (USD or VND) to the last trip.
Wherever you travel to, you’ll always find someone willing to change dollars cash into VND, though rates will vary. When receiving dong, you’ll be presented with a huge pile of notes. Refuse any badly torn notes and ask for a mix of denominations so that you always have a few low-value notes in hand.
